CAKE at Pompano Beach Amphitheater: Before-Show Dinner and After-Party at Revelry

Most Mondays, the lights at Revelry stay off. This one’s different.

On Monday, October 26, 2026, the alt-rock institution CAKE plays the Pompano Beach Amphitheater — and Revelry is breaking its own rule for the occasion. We’re normally closed on Mondays, but not this one. We’re opening our doors specially from 4 PM to 11 PM for CAKE night: a before-show dinner for anyone heading to The Amp, and the official after-party once the band walks off stage.

Here’s everything you need: who CAKE is if you only know them from the radio, when doors and showtime actually are, how to get from Revelry to the venue, what The Amp will and won’t let you bring in, and what the night looks like once the music stops.

CAKE Comes to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater — Monday, October 26, 2026

CAKE isn’t a nostalgia act coasting on one hit. The Sacramento band built a sound nobody’s quite copied since the early ’90s: deadpan vocals, a trumpet doing the work most bands hand to a lead guitar, and lyrics that are funny and sharp in the same breath. If you know “The Distance,” “Never There,” “Sheep Go to Heaven,” or the unmistakable “Short Skirt/Long Jacket,” you already know the voice. What a lot of casual fans don’t know is that CAKE’s 2011 album Showroom of Compassion actually debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 — proof the band’s audience never really left.

They’re also not a legacy act just replaying the catalog. CAKE has a ninth studio album in the works, and the new song “Billionaire in Space” — a pointed take on economic inequality — has already been showing up in their live sets. Expect a mix of the songs you grew up with and something newer with teeth.

Get there early. Doors open well before showtime, and that gap is exactly when you want to already be seated with a drink in hand, not still circling for parking.

Pompano Beach Amphitheater Rules to Know Before You Go

A few things to sort out before you leave the house, so you’re not making a return trip to the car:

  • Bags: Backpacks larger than 8.5″ x 11″ are prohibited. Smaller and clear bags are allowed but get inspected.
  • Outside food and drink: Not allowed, with one exception — one sealed bottle of water per person, or an empty, clear refillable bottle.
  • Alcohol: Purchased on-site only, 21+ with valid ID.
  • Re-entry: Not permitted except in emergencies.
  • Prohibited items: Weapons, umbrellas, strollers, drones, laser pointers, totems, inflatables, and professional cameras.
  • Smoking and vaping: Restricted to designated areas only — not permitted in seating or restrooms.

Why This Monday Is Different at Revelry

Revelry is dark on Mondays and Tuesdays, every week, no exceptions — except this one. For CAKE night, we’re opening specifically to serve the crowd heading to or coming from The Amp, both before the show and after.

Special CAKE-night hours: Monday, October 26, 4 PM to 11 PM. That’s roughly two and a half hours of dinner service before doors at the Amphitheater, and about an hour window after the show lets out for the after-party crowd to settle in. Since this is a one-off exception to our normal schedule and not our everyday hours, don’t show up expecting a regular Monday — this is the only Monday on the calendar you’ll find us open.

Before the Show: Dinner at Revelry

If you’re making a night of CAKE, start at Revelry. Doors open at 4 PM, and the kitchen will be running full menu service before the show, so you can get a real dinner in rather than ballpark concession food — think the signature burgers, shareable starters, and the kind of comfort food that holds up before a couple hours on your feet.

With doors at the venue at 6:30 and show at 8, you’ve got roughly a two-and-a-half-hour window to eat, relax, and still make the roughly 2-mile drive over to the Amphitheater with time to spare. Because this is a special one-night opening and not a typical Wednesday-through-Sunday service, larger groups should call ahead at 954-295-6662 to confirm timing and, if needed, reserve a table.

Getting to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater

Parking at The Amp

Parking at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater is free and on-site, with lots typically opening about two hours before showtime. ADA parking is available near the entrance on a first-come, first-served basis.

Is the Area Around the Amphitheater Walkable?

Not really, and it’s worth knowing that before you plan your night. The Amp sits inside Pompano Community Park on NE 6th Street, surrounded by ballfields and residential streets — there’s no strip of restaurants or bars within walking distance of the gates.

Downtown Pompano Beach, where Revelry sits on South Federal Highway, is the walkable part of town. That’s about 2 miles from the Amphitheater — roughly a 6-minute drive. Plan to drive or rideshare between the two; it’s not a comfortable walk, especially in late-October Florida heat.

Rideshare and Re-Entry

Uber and Lyft both run reliably in Pompano Beach, and the Revelry-to-Amp hop is short and cheap either direction. If you’re drinking at dinner and planning to come back for the after-party, leaving the car at Revelry and taking rideshare both ways is the easiest call — especially since re-entry isn’t permitted at the Amphitheater once you’re inside.

The After-Party: Revelry Stays Open After CAKE

CAKE shows typically run a couple of hours once the band takes the stage at 8 PM, which usually puts the encore somewhere around 10 to 10:15 PM. That still leaves time to make the short drive back to Revelry before we close the special hours down at 11 PM or later

We’ll be open specifically for the after-party crowd coming off The Amp — drinks, late-night food, and a room full of people still talking about the setlist. It’s a short trip back across town, and since Revelry doesn’t normally open on Mondays at all, this is very much a one-night-only version of the bar you know from the rest of the week. Just don’t dawdle leaving the venue — with an 11 PM or later cutoff, you’ll want to head out not long after the encore ends.

Who Is CAKE? A Quick Primer for the Curious

CAKE formed in Sacramento, California, in the early 1990s and built a catalog that doesn’t sound quite like anything else on alt-rock radio — part rock band, part lounge act, with a trumpet doing as much melodic work as the guitar. Beyond the hits, the band has stayed genuinely active: Showroom of Compassion hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2011, a ninth studio album is currently in the works, and the band contributed the song “Hold You (Responsible)” to the Songs for Sex compilation, which supports reproductive rights and bodily autonomy. This isn’t a band phoning it in on a reunion tour — they’re still writing, still touring, and still saying something.

Why Revelry Is the Right Stop Before and After CAKE

Revelry runs on the same kind of oddball, nostalgic energy CAKE’s music does — vintage décor, a sense of humor, a room that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Pairing a CAKE show with a night at Revelry isn’t a stretch; the whole evening just fits together. And because we’re making an exception to our usual Monday-off schedule just for this, it’s worth treating the night as the one-off it actually is.

CAKE is just the latest stop in a steady run of touring acts hitting the Amp this year, from Postmodern Jukebox to Garbage to the Violent Femmes. If you’re building out a concert calendar of your own, check our full roundup of live music in Pompano Beach for what else is coming up and where to eat and drink around each show.

Plan Your CAKE Night at Revelry

So here’s the full plan: dinner at Revelry starting at 4 PM, the show at the Amp at 8, and Revelry again once the encore ends — all the way until we close at 11 PM. Call ahead at 954-295-6662 for larger groups, check our events calendar for any updates as the date gets closer, and take a look at the menu so you know what you’re ordering before you sit down.

It’s a Monday Revelry isn’t usually open for. Don’t miss it.
